About this event
Ephrata Area Social Services celebrates its 50th Anniversary of serving families in need in Cocalico and Ephrata, Lancaster County. The funds raised from this unique and beautiful event will directly support individuals and families through our transportation and case management programs.
For all inquiries for this event, please call EASS at 717-733-0345 x11 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2020, EASS fleet of vehicles traveled nearly 33,000 miles transporting people with no other means to their doctor appointments, grocery stores, County offices, the bank, etc.
When the pandemic hit and the world shut down, EASS stayed open to help people pay for their utilities, rent, hotel fees and other emergency expenses. Nearly $79,000 was expended in assistance.
EASS was blessed to be able to provide the assistance needed to keep families afloat. We’ve been doing it for 50 years. Let’s celebrate you, our donors, for your support. And, join us in navigating the next 50 years serving our Neighbors.
What Can Guests Expect to See/Do at this Event:
In addition to enjoying a delicious meal and scrumptious desserts, guests can also expect to have wine and beer available for purchase. Feel free to purchase a bottle of wine for your table!
A silent auction will feature quality items for bid with values ranging from low ($25) to much higher amounts. A minimum bid will be placed on the items.
Down By The Glenside will provide the entertainment for the evening. Humbly paying homage to the Irish generations that have built this and many other great nations, Down By The Glenside brings you the traditional sounds of Ireland.
A Table Scape competition and a Giving Board are also other features of this event. Read on to learn more!
What Is the Table Scape Competition?
This is your chance to be creative! We will provide the tables and chairs, and you provide all of your place settings and decorative centerpieces. But, make it fun! There’s money in it for you! Our Hand Up Event Sponsor, Heck Construction, will judge the tables on the most beautiful, creative table scapes.
First place winner wins $500; second place, $250, and third place, $100!
If this isn’t your cup of tea, please do not feel you need to be a part of the competition; however, place settings, glasses, tableclothes, etc, must still be brought with you. Again, we will provide the tables and chairs.
What Size Tables Will Be Provided and How Will Guests Be Arranged?
Eight-foot, 6-foot and 3-foot round tables will be available. An 8-foot table seats a party of 6; a 6-foot table seats a party of 4 and the 3-foot round table will be suitable for a party of 2. To add to your fun evening, get 2 or 3 couples together and brainstorm on your tablescape creation.
What Is A Giving Board?
This fun activity offers yet another opportunity for you to give back. Tags with dollar amounts will be arranged on a board and you select the amount you would like to donate. When you remove that tag, you will read about a family or program for which that amount has covered. Example: if you select a $150 tag, you will read that the $150 covered the cost of a family’s utility bill in February.
This event is in mid-October! Won’t It Be Cold?
It may be a bit frosty, but no worries. Heating towers will be provided. See picture provided as an example of what heating towers are.
What Is the Dress Code?
Please dress appropriately for the season, but please no jeans or athletic wear.
